JOHN A. BRENNAN’S PSALMS OF A TRAVELING MAN

Author John A. Brennan has just penned his latest poetry collection entitled “The Journey: A Nomad Reflects.” The collection consists of more than 30 poems and includes tributes to such luminaries as Yeats, Patrick Pearse, John F. Kennedy, and Ireland’s Bobby Sands.

“Journey” represents Brennan’s second book, and like last year’s Don’t Die with Regrets, it reflects a spiritual sojourn that begins with homage to the author’s Irish roots. However, while ancient Ireland sets the stage for Brennan’s combination of narrative and poetic wanderings, such ancient and mystical locales as Chaco Canyon, Ramesses Temple, Nubia and the Mayan ruins also become part of the reader’s itinerary. States Escribe Publishing’s spokesperson, Sharon Cash, “Through his narration and poetry readers will be shepherded by John on an amazing journey that explores the intersection of the mind, the heart, and our place in the universe.”

Brennan’s book is replete with stories depicting the many lessons he learned both as a child growing up in Ireland, and coming of age in America. He describes his journey as one that began in the land of his ancestors’ centuries before his own birth. Mal, Brennan’s father was a central and influencing figure in his life. He instills in his son what it means to live a truly meaningful life, such that one’s time here on earth is neither wasted nor full of regrets at life’s end.
